Escape to your own secluded tranquil retreat when you hold your wedding ceremony at Kingfisher Cottage.  Nestled above the bubbling Mangatoki Stream, this charming, two-bedroom, self-contained Cottage is only 15 minutes from the South Taranaki town of Hawera and 10 minutes from Eltham.

Kingfisher Cottage has stunning landscaped native and exotic plantings and winding pathways which meander down to the stream, where you can fish for trout or enjoy the peace and quiet of this rural location.  The perfect location for a wedding ceremony awaits either down by the stream with guests standing along the pathways to view the ceremony or held in the formal courtyard area with the bridal party standing on the verandah of the Cottage.

This price includes the following:

Venue Hire:  Kingfisher Cottage offers a landscaped natural beauty in a secluded tranquil setting, with the bubbling Mangatoki Stream running past for your wedding ceremony.

Canapés: A selection of cocktail sandwiches and crostini with various toppings will be served to guests after the ceremony whilst they mix and mingle and the bridal party has family photographs.  N.B:  Up to 100 guests – additional cost may incur for higher numbers.

Bar/Wait Staff: Kingfisher Cottage staff will serve platters of canapés to your guests and man a “drinks station” with you having the option to BYO drinks if you wish.

Pre-wedding Consultations: Kingfisher Cottage works with you providing our expertise in wedding planning to ensure your special day runs smoothly.  The key to the success of your special day is ‘communication’ and each party knowing what each other is doing on the day and we will meet prior to the wedding at Kingfisher Cottage to discuss your preference on where to hold your wedding ceremony & plans.

Rehearsal: Generally held the day prior to your wedding during the afternoon or evening.

Walk-in / Walk-out Service: Kingfisher Cottage offers a walk-in / walk-out service where we assist with the setting up and the clean-up afterwards, so you can simply relax and enjoy your day with family and friends.  On the day a member of the Tairoa Lodge team will be there as your point of contact, to ensure your special day runs smoothly.

Music System: Kingfisher Cottage has a home-theatre system where we can place speakers out onto the deck for background music and you provide your music to play.

Ceremony & Photo Opportunities: Kingfisher Cottage is the perfect venue for wedding photographs with the natural landscape and gardens providing a perfect backdrop.

Accommodation: Perfect for the Bride & Groom, Kingfisher Cottage is a romantic retreat.  Cooked breakfast provisions are provided along with homemade treats & a bottle of bubbles.  Enjoy relaxing in the spa under the night sky.

Off-road parking for guests.
